(geb. 2. Sep. 1927 in Reichenbach; gest. 25. Sep. 2016 in Leipzig). Deutscher Maler und Grafiker des abstrakten Expressionismus. Bis 1951 Studium an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig (HGB). 1951-94 an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden (HfBK), 1967 Professor für Grafik, ab 1979 Professor für Malerei und Grafik. Sein Werk ist geprägt von stark farbigen Kompositionen mit Kunstfiguren und geometrischen Segmenten, die meist abstrakt sind und das Verhältnis reiner Farbflächen zueinander ausloten.
