Cockburn, James Pattison
(1779 in New York City - 1847 in London) war ein britischer Maler, Autor und Militäroffizier. Cockburn entstammter einer Militärfamilie. Er erhielt Malunterricht im Zuge seiner kartografischen Ausbildung. Durch seinen Armeedienst bereiste er viele Länder und fertigte währendessen Reisebücher an, die er selbst illustrierte.
