Bartlett, William Henry
(1809 Kentish Town / London - 1854 bei einem Schiffsbrand vor Malta). Englischer Landschaftsmaler, -zeichner und Stahlstecher, einer der bedeutendsten topografischen Illustratoren seiner Zeit. Zum Zweck der Ansichtenaufnahme bereiste er England, Mitte der 1840er Jahre den Balkan und den Mittleren Osten. 1835-52 weilte er mehrfach in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Seine ersten amerikanischen Ansichten wurden 1837-39 im Stahlstich bei George Virtue in London als "American Scenery; or Land, Lake, and River" veröffentlicht.
